As per my goal of getting better at blogging, I have a goal to make sure I post every month. Yes, it is ten in the evening on the last day of April, BUT, it's still making my goal.

So, let's sum up this past month, shall we?
At the beginning of this month I turned 25. Yes, middle agedness is just around the corner. I am now leaving the spring of youth and entering the summery years of my life. Heaven is just 75 years away.

Not being able to eat sugar on your birthday is the pits. Blah. Right now part of me is proud of how far I've gone with this sugarless goal of mine, and another part of me is shaking my head and saying, "never again." There is a happy fact, though, that Martinelli's has no added sugar. Give me ten, please. :) Hey, at least I'm downing less than the twelve pounds of honey I drained in January. Overall, though, it really was a good birthday. A bajillion people called me, and I talked with people from sunup to sundown. It really made me feel special. Especially the messages with serenades.
Then came beautiful Easter. We went on three different egg hunts with Devri. The first one was with our ward, and Devri chose to use her pink pumpkin bucket instead of an Easter basket. It was so cute to see her running around. She really came out of her shell and joined the herd of children. The same went for the one with some of our friends' egg hunt. Then we had one at home as well. I am now officially egged out. Devri isn't, though. She actually found the plastic eggs in storage in our closet and pulled them out and has been hiding/dumping them all over the house. I hope she always keeps that excitement for holidays.

Brighton got her two great big first teeth within three days of each other this month. Just on her bottom middle gums. The top ones are rearing to come through as well. And the peach fuzz on her head is starting to get longer in the back. My baby is growing up! And getting a mullet...
Lastly, Trev and I celebrated our FIFTH anniversary this month. Trev's mom flew in and watched the girls as we had our FIRST night away from them. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza downtown and went and saw Wicked (AAAAHHHH - I'M STILL SO STOKED!), drank milk steamers afterward, and watched "Swamp Dwellers" until way past our bedtime (cable is a dangerous thing - there are just so many weird people out there to find out about ;) ). Then we SLEPT IN until EIGHT!!! I wish we had an anniversary every week.

With all the mile markers that have happened this month, it really has put me in a reflective mood about where my life is going and what I'm doing with it. I know that I'm an infinitely better person for having married Trevor and gotten more experience under my belt. I'm wiser, better looking (grin!), more stable, and so much stronger in so many ways. I'm still the same person, just version 25.0. Wait to you see me when I'm 70, folks. I'll just blow all past versions of myself away. And that's the way it's supposed to be, right? Every day, in some way, getting better and better. I'm so thankful for the life that God has given me and the chances I have to become better and get over myself and all my frailties. There really is a plan and a direction in life for all of us, and I thrive in finding out and fulfilling my purposes here on the earth. I am so, so grateful. For everything.
